Camp Shawu
Shishangeni Private Game LodgeWith authentic buffalo dung walls, the accommodation at Camp Shawu, a Concession inside the Kruger National park, paints a picture of the 'real Africa' described by famous explorers of colonial times. Private decks overlooking the Mpanamana Dam and beyond, present a masterpiece of an African landscape, weaved into which include many stories from a rich cultural heritage. With an emphasis on walking trails, guests can experience a typical old-fashioned wildlife safari first-hand. When early mornings were fresh with the smell of a new day, and a sunset was reminiscent of days gone by.

Camp Shawu Location
The camp is situated in the Shishangeni 15,000ha private concession in the south-eastern section of the world - renowned Kruger National Park. The borders of the concession area are the perennial Crocodile River to the south and Mozambique in the east.
Access
Camp Shawu is best accessed by road through the Crocodile Bridge Gate (approximately 14 km). Air access is to one of the following airports in the area: Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) - 110 Km; Maputo Airport (Mozambique) - 125 km; Malelane Airport - 70 km.
Camp Shawu Accommodation
The camp can accommodate 10 guests in 5 individual chalets, all luxuriously equipped with en-suite bathrooms, mini bar, outside shower, ceiling fans, and timber deck.
Facilities
The central facility consists of a lounge, indoor and outdoor dining area and a splash pool.
Activities
The wide variety of nature based activities at the camp include morning and afternoon game drives on the 15,000ha private concession and informative game walks.

Child policy
Camp Shawu welcomes children of all ages and childcare is available on request. Children under 6 years are unfortunately not allowed on game drives and children under the age of 12 are not permitted on game walks. Please note that every precaution will be taken to provide for your safety and that of your children throughout your stay, guests are however asked to acknowledge the potential danger of being in a wildlife area.
Communication
The camp has radio contact with the main Shishangeni Lodge only.
Power Supply
The camp is powered by a generator and battery system and power points are available in the rooms for chargers, electrical shavers and hairdryers.
